Where to stay in Ban Krut and Bang Saphan
Published · Last checked · Independent guide, no bookings
Ban Krut hotels and the stays around Bang Saphan are mostly small and family-run. You will not find giant chain resorts here. This independent guide compares the main areas so you can choose. We do not run or recommend any single hotel, and we take no bookings.
Ban Krut beach road
Most places to stay line the coastal road behind Ban Krut Beach. Options range from seaside resorts with pools to simple guesthouses. Older guides counted more than 20 resorts plus guesthouses here. Stay near the middle of the beach for restaurants within walking distance, or at the ends for more quiet.
Near the station and the village
Ban Krut's railway station is in the village, not far from the sand. Staying nearby is handy if you arrive by train without a car. You are also close to small shops, cafés and the local market.
Mae Ramphueng and Bo Thong Lang
South of Ban Krut, resorts face the long bay of Mae Ramphueng and the small cove of Bo Thong Lang. This area is calmer still and suits families who want shallow water close by.
Bang Saphan Yai and Suan Luang
The fishing village of Bang Saphan Yai has simple beachfront bamboo bungalows and a few bars and restaurants. Suan Luang beach, just to the south, is popular for kayaking. It is a budget-friendly base with easy access to Koh Thalu boat trips.
Staying on Koh Thalu
One resort operates on Koh Thalu itself and handles boat transfers, meals and snorkel trips. An island night is very quiet. Book directly and confirm what is included.
Booking tips
Weekends and Thai holidays fill fast, as families drive down from Bangkok. Book ahead for those dates and for the main season from about November to April. On weekdays you may find rooms on arrival. Always check recent guest reviews and the exact location on a map before you pay.
